Overview
A standalone service that decides which sales manager receives each incoming corporate lead, fairly and by region. It replaced manual, subjective assignment and gives admins a console inside the CRM to control who receives leads.
The need
Corporate leads were assigned by hand, and the choice was often subjective. When several leads arrived at once there was no reliable way to rotate them fairly. Admins also needed to switch managers on and off and see where each lead went, without touching code.
What was built
A service where each rotation step runs as one atomic transaction, so leads that arrive together never collide. Each region is its own rotation pool, with a fallback to a wider pool when nobody in the region is available, and the automations ask it for the next manager through a protected API. The admin console sits inside the CRM: manager switches, region pools, and a log of leads with the live status of each.
Security and delivery
The service was hardened from the start: signed access, protection against cross-site requests, a strict content security policy, rate limits, an audit log and limited retention of lead data. It ships with deployment guides and a security review for the client’s IT and security teams, and later dependency advisories were patched and redeployed.
Result
In production. An independent external security audit found no vulnerabilities, and automated and stress tests cover the service.
