London Spot online store prototype

Overview

A study of whether a Tbilisi outlet shop could sell online from its two POS locations, a blueprint of every integration it would need, and a full storefront prototype with cart, checkout and a courier integration working against the courier’s test gateway. It is kept as the base for the online-sales phase.

The question

London Spot’s rented storefront could connect only one of its two Optimo POS locations, the shop and the warehouse, so online selling had been switched off. The founders had been told that syncing two locations was impossible, and translating Amazon listings for every shipment was a struggle too.

Assessment and research

The client-facing assessment found everything feasible: Optimo’s API supports several locations and recording sales from outside, and the only real blocker is commercial API access. Research into Optimo, QuickShipper delivery, Bank of Georgia payments, RS.ge waybills, Sender.ge SMS, Resend email and Georgian legal requirements became one integration blueprint.

The prototype

The storefront was built on real catalogue data, with a leading Georgian electronics store’s flows as a reference: 13 pages in vanilla HTML, CSS and JavaScript, a cart and a multi-step checkout with delivery choice and a map, and sign-in with a mock OTP. Behind it sit a Node server layer whose QuickShipper client works against the test gateway, a Postgres migration runner and a Docker Compose stack with nginx, Postgres and Redis. A redesign pass removed generic effects, set a 14 px floor for Georgian text and 44 px touch targets, and cut 10.4 MB of banners to under 150 KB.

Result

Lighthouse mobile performance rose from 51–69 to 94–100 on every page except search results (85), and accessibility scored 100 on every URL. A crawl of 101 internal URLs found zero errors.
